Week 11: Presentation Prep & Final Report Writing

As the project neared its completion, Week 11 was spent focusing on preparing for the final presentation and writing the final report. I had already made significant strides in developing the model and the app, but now it was time to wrap everything up in a coherent and well-structured presentation.

I started by organizing the presentation content. I knew that the key was to make the explanation clear and concise while also demonstrating the capabilities of the app and the underlying technology. I created a step-by-step demo, starting from the user’s interaction with the app—uploading or recording a video, getting results from the YOLOv8 model, and storing those results in Firebase. I also explained the reasoning behind choosing YOLOv8 for ball detection, how Google Colab helped train the model, and how Roboflow was integral in preparing the dataset.

Alongside the presentation, I began drafting the final report. This document would serve as a detailed record of the entire project—from concept to final deployment. I focused on breaking down each phase of the project: from research, software selection, and dataset preparation, to the technical implementation, Firebase integration, and final testing. I also took the time to reflect on the challenges I faced throughout the project, such as optimizing model training, ensuring smooth app performance, and integrating cloud-based storage.

By the end of the week, I had a clear outline for my presentation, and I had made solid progress on my report. I felt confident that I could deliver a strong presentation that would clearly communicate both the technical complexity and the real-world applicability of the project.
